Making most inventory available?
An exclusion-oriented approach may be simpler when most inventory should participate and you only need to identify the merchandise that should not transfer.
Making selected inventory available?
FC Collects' opt-in approach is more direct when you want tighter control over the inventory participating in Virtual Inventory. You enable exactly what should participate instead of maintaining a collection representing everything that should not.
Selection Is Only the Beginning
- Inventory eligibility
- Choose what can participate — collections, individual products, and specific variants.
- Virtual availability
- Make eligible units available to online demand, after minimum-stock and last-unit protections.
- Order conversion
- A qualifying paid order creates a shortage at your designated fulfillment location.
- Source allocation
- For each enabled Virtual Inventory item, FC Collects selects eligible inventory at approved locations and allocates the required units.
- Inventory commitment
- The selected units are committed to the transfer and protected from duplicate allocation.
- Auto Transfer
- For each enabled Virtual Inventory item, FC Collects creates the auto transfer from the source location to the designated fulfillment location.
- Centralized fulfillment
- The transferred inventory enters your normal fulfillment operation once received.
Automation with guardrails: FC Collects automates inventory sourcing inside the rules your business defines.
